JANUARY 16 2026 SANTA ANITA - FREE LATE PICK 3 AND LATE DAILY DOUBLE PICKS I AM KEEPING A RUNNING TOTAL FOR THE CLASSIC MEET ON THIS BET - WE HAD THE PICK 3 FOR A $6 WINNING BET WHICH PAID $805.20 BRINGING OUR TOTAL TO DATE - $3,814.95 WE ARE 6 OUT 9 ON THE LATE PICK 3 BET THIS MEET! JUST OVER $2,000 OF THAT IS PROFIT! I HAD ALSO SUGGESTED A TRIFECTA PLAY WITH #1 IN THE THIRD SPOT IN THE LAST RACE ON THURSDAY WITH KEY HORSES IN 1ST & 2ND - THAT PAID $348.15 FOR A $1 INCREMENT.

Race 6: A) 1 B) 3
#1 Winterfell is the top choice, although away from the races since Christmas 2024, this 5 year old has been working up a storm in the morning. Hernadez hops off #3 Pilot Commander to ride Winterfell. "Pilot has also been working well in the morning and is the other logical alternative.
Race 7: A) 3,1 B) 6,7
#3 Gypsy Tears has a great pattern I like and might be circling back to a good number. #1 Man Child looks like this 6 year-old gelding is rounding into good form. #6 Raging Waters wins this if repeats last, but may regress. #7 Habeas has been off almost a year, Koriner brings him back with a rarely used jockey and good works. He might be trying to sneak one by us here.
Race 8: A) 5,10 B) 3,1
This is the toughest races of the sequence. Anytime that occurs, I usually land on a price. #5 Please Focus is interesting, this 6-year-old gelding was just claimed for $16K by Knapp and promptly legs up speed rider Maldonado. This horse is cutting back from a mile on dirt and will be winging on the front end. #10 Harcyn has a nice outside post, and is coming off a voided claim which is always iffy. The work tabs looks like the horse is sound. #3 Simplexity is a Mullins horse who appears to be rounding into shape since he claimed him 4 back for $50K, this horse is now running against $25K claimers. #1 Commander is a 9-year-old gelding who hasn't won in awhile, but appears to be rounding into shape. I like Herrera on this horse because you know he will give him a good ride despite being on the rail in this 6 furlong sprint.
